What Your Support Makes Possible
Austin’s House is a 24/7 emergency shelter serving children from birth through age 18 who have been removed from their homes due to family crisis, neglect or abuse.
When a child arrives at Austin’s House, they often come with little notice and few belongings. Our team is ready at any hour of the day or night to provide a safe place to stay and meet each child’s immediate needs.
Community support helps provide:
- Safe, around-the-clock shelter
- Healthy meals and snacks
- Clothing, shoes and personal necessities
- Transportation and school supplies
- Continued enrollment in school
- Medical, dental and therapeutic care
- Homework help, activities and opportunities to simply be a child
- Compassionate support during an uncertain time
Since opening in 2007, Austin’s House has served more than 550 children from rural communities across Northern Nevada.
Children may stay with us for only a short time, but the safety, comfort and stability they receive can have a lasting impact.
Minden-Tahoe SkyFest
Oct. 16-18, 2026
Minden-Tahoe Airport
1146 Airport Road, Minden, Nevada
SkyFest is expected to welcome thousands of residents and visitors to Carson Valley. For many attendees, it may also be their first introduction to Austin’s House and the critical role an emergency children’s shelter plays in rural Nevada.
That awareness matters.
Many people want to help children in crisis but may not be able to foster or volunteer. Supporting Austin’s House through a SkyFest ticket purchase, making a direct donation or simply sharing our mission are all meaningful ways to make a difference.
We are grateful to the Minden-Tahoe Airport and SkyFest organizers for creating this opportunity and helping more people learn about the children we serve.
We hope you will join us Oct. 16-18 for an incredible weekend in the skies above Carson Valley. When you purchase your tickets, look for the opportunity to round up or add a donation to Austin’s House.
Together, we can lift up children in crisis and help ensure they have a safe place to land.
